What's this?
This unofficial calculator helps Swansea University students estimate their degree classification based on the university's specific banding and weighting system.
How it works:
- Your modules are allocated to weighted bands based on level and performance
- Band weights: Level 7 (Band 4) = 4x, Level 6 (Band 3) = 3x, Level 5 (Band 2) = 2x, remaining (Band 1) = 1x
- Borderline cases (within 2%) may be upgraded via Preponderance or Exit Velocity rules
Classification bands:
- First Class: 70% and above
- Upper Second (2:1): 60-69.99%
- Lower Second (2:2): 50-59.99%
- Third Class: 40-49.99%
- Pass Degree: 35-39.99%
