How are percentiles estimated?
Percentiles are calculated using linear interpolation within official UCAT decile bands published by UCAT. We map your total score to the nearest decile boundaries and interpolate your exact position within that band. This provides a more accurate estimate than simple band placement.
Why is the total score out of 2700 in 2025?
From 2025 onwards, UCAT removed the Abstract Reasoning (AR) section, leaving only three cognitive subtests: Verbal Reasoning (VR), Decision Making (DM), and Quantitative Reasoning (QR). Each is scored 0-900, giving a maximum total of 2700 instead of the previous 3600.
How accurate are these estimates compared to actual results?
Our estimates are based on official UCAT statistics but represent approximations. Actual percentiles can vary slightly each year depending on the cohort's performance. Use these results as a guide for your competitiveness, not as definitive predictions. The 2024 equivalent is particularly approximate as it maps across different test formats.
What's the difference between raw and scaled scores?
Raw scores are the number of questions you answered correctly. Scaled scores (0-900) are standardized scores that UCAT provides, accounting for slight variations in test difficulty. If you only know your raw scores, our calculator converts them proportionally to scaled scores based on the maximum questions per subtest.
